Yes and no. One has to cultivate oneness and energy in order for such to be possible. True psychics have this ability of some level, the more they use it, the more they can communicate with these sentient beings.
The nature of this practice is mainly of advance seekers unspoken knowledge, but to help one unlock the real, one has to meditate a lot one oneness, and cultivate energy and spiritual being.
It is not impossible, but possible to communicate with animals, as well plants. Much of the communication is intuitionly, not in words. Doesn't mean there isn't a possible there may be some words, but need to meditate on this to know if it is of these beings, or tricky spirit.
