There are two sources, the main sources is the energy gates/chakras of the eye balls. The are the mian lights one sees, sees as a light show. The other source is of the true self, the spirit. But one will not know this truth until on reaches a deeply state of mind. This level is where one can see the true self, not something false.
When one closes the eye lids, observe closely, keep focus. See this lights spinning? Spinning like chakras? See them flying about? This is what chakras do. If one is very area of eneergy feeling, these can be felt on the eyes.
To see the lights of the spirit, one has to see the spirit in order to know what lights are of the spirit. Keep meditating, one may reach this higher level of mind with pordgress.
