Religion is man made spirituality, full of uncertainty and beliefs. But there may be some real knowledge. It is not a natural spirituality.
Things become religion when they have worship, belief in one or more gods, human gods, beasty gods, and other divine beings that are created by man in images. Stories are created, and beliefs are formed. Politics are also created in much religions, in order to hold one to the believers form straying outside the religion. New Age is seen as a religion, because of it's mystic beings, which many accept as real, not investigating for the real.
True spirituality might have a Creator, but this has to be experienced. Accepting it because one tell there is, is giving into belief. There is no spirit worshiping either. Nor worshiping a living being as a god. It is also free of ego needs, and politics.
