Egoism mainly means self-importance and self-interest. The need of pride, wealth, power, fame, attachment to objects and subjects, ignorance and selfishness, do harm, uncompassionate, unspiritual.
Egoism is kind of a practice, but it is mainly spiritual suffering. As one can tell when meditating on much in the blog, the ego is not spiritual. Many enjoy listening to their ego, therefore practice it.
